The virtual platform for submitting research projects that will make up the program for a new version of the Interdisciplinary Congress of Research in Education - CIIE 2026 - will be open for one month.

Daniela Véliz, Vice Dean of Education at UC, presented the results of her Fondecyt Regular project on mentoring programs for early-career academics at six Chilean universities, addressing their benefits and recommendations for public policy. The event included comments from Solange Rivera, a professor at the UC Faculty of Medicine.

CELITED will support the educational improvement of 298 establishments in Antofagasta, Metropolitan and Los Ríos for four years, benefiting more than 66 students, under the leadership of the UC Faculty of Education together with the Catholic University Silva Henríquez and the University of Antofagasta.

The platform for submitting academic papers to participate in the Interdisciplinary Congress of Research in Education will be open between June 15 and July 15.

The academic leads the Minku project, notable for its contribution to the development of innovation and technology transfer.  

A group of master's and doctoral students from the University of Michigan visited the UC Faculty of Education to learn about the Chilean education system, its public policies, and the main innovations developed in higher education and academic training.

The Faculty's centers presented their work approaches and the many opportunities they offer for the training of new researchers.

Malba Barahona, an academic from the UC Faculty of Education, presented the talk “What does it mean to be a teacher trainer today? Navigating tensions and reimagining professional identities,” which was discussed by Helena Montenegro, a researcher at the Center for Mathematical Modeling of the University of Chile.

The seminar “Implementing 60 minutes of physical activity in schools”, organized by the UC Faculty of Education and the Ministry of Health, generated great interest, bringing together more than 200 attendees in person and another 300 virtually.

86 teachers participated in an intensive workshop focused on the use of artificial intelligence, gamification, and data analytics applied to the classroom.

These events were part of the commemorative activities for International Women's Day (8M) and aimed to highlight the value, recognition, and imagination surrounding the experiences of women within the university community.

The CIIE 2026 will take place between October 27 and 29, 2026, at the UC Campus Oriente Extension Center. In its seventh edition, the focus will be on education in service to society and the role of research in a time of change.
