The initiatives led by academics from the UC Faculty of Education were selected in the 38th FONDEDOC 2026 Competition. They address key challenges of university teaching, such as pedagogical innovation, gender, teacher training and didactic updating.

Six academics from UC Education will be part of four projects selected for funding in Fondecyt Regular 2026, with lines of research that address school and early childhood education, numerical cognition, artificial intelligence and doctoral training.

The meeting was organized within the framework of the FONDECYT Project No. 1241017 "Ideologies and practices of Citizenship Education in Basic Education: What do directors, teachers and students say and do?", led by UC Education academic Carmen Gloria Zúñiga.

Academics and practicum coordinators shared research and reflections on situated teacher training and triad feedback. The Faculty highlighted its commitment to reflective, situated, and high-quality initial teacher training.

The UC Education academic will lead the Center for the Well-being and Development of Adolescence and Childhood in the Digital Age (BAND), an initiative funded by ANID that seeks to generate interdisciplinary evidence to strengthen the well-being and development of children and adolescents and guide public policies considering their digital lives.

The awards reflect high-quality academic collaboration, both within the Faculty and in conjunction with other units of the UC.

The initiatives, led by academics from the Faculty, address key issues for the Chilean education system, from early childhood education and teacher training to arts high schools and scientific and environmental literacy.

The results of the study show positive and significant impacts on the well-being, socio-emotional and cognitive development of the 1.000 boys and girls who participated in the program.

At a new UC Education Colloquium, Doctors of Education Macarena Salas and Dany López presented Trayectics, the first digital teacher professional development program based on evidence, technology and artificial intelligence.

Thanks to the Support Fund for Presentations at International Congresses Abroad, researchers participated in high-level academic meetings in Europe, Latin America and the Middle East.

The new edition addresses key debates on higher education globally and features an editorial that questions the current incentives and practices of the academic publishing system.

During 2025, the UC Education Colloquium Cycle incorporated an expanded academic conversation format, bringing together researchers and doctoral students around the presentation and discussion of recent studies.
