Academics and teachers of English Pedagogy participate in international conference in Minneapolis

The team presented research and innovation works in teaching related to teaching practices of English teacher trainers.

Malba Barahona, academic and undergraduate director, together with a group of practice tutors from the English Pedagogy degree, participated in the 12th international conference at the beginning of June Language Teacher Education Conference: 'Theorizing Practice, Practicing Theory', held in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

These are the teaching tutors Camila Salas, Paz Stockel, Carolina Ordenes, Natalia Pavez y Viviana David, Internship Coordinator of the Pedagogy in English for Basic and Secondary Education, who together with the undergraduate director They presented research and innovation works in teaching related to teaching practices of English teacher trainers.

During the conference they participated in the symposium Innovation, Intentionality, and Intervention: Vygotskian Sociocultural Research in Second Language Teacher Education, which gave an account of the construction of the book "Transformative L2 Teacher education Innovations: Insights from Vygotskian Sociocultural Theory». Routledge, edited by Johnson, KE, Golombek, PR, & Rieker, J., and in which they wrote the chapter “Embracing Dialogic Feedback in Chilean EFL Teacher Education: A Self-Study of Teacher Educator Practices”.
In addition, Malba Barahona, Camila Salas and Paz Stockel presented the paper “Innovating Pedagogical Reasoning: A Self-Study of Chilean EFL Teacher Educators Supporting Preservice Teachers.”
Meanwhile, Carolina Órdenes, Natalia Pavez and Viviana David presented “Enhancing EFL Teacher Preparation: Insights from Practicum Design and Pedagogical Innovation in Chile”, an ongoing investigation that analyzes the university's practice programs and develops a strengthening proposal for the curricular coherence.
