Alianza Lagar begins its year of work

Within the framework of the collaboration between the UC and the Gabriela Mistral Local Public Education Service, the executive team of Alianza Lagar met to define the priority work areas for this 2022.

In 2021, the agreement was signed between the Faculty of Education UC and the Local Public Education Service Gabriela Mistral (SLEP GM) in order to collaborate and strengthen public education in the communes of La Granja, Macul and San Joaquín. This agreement received the name of Alianza Lagar and its objective is to strengthen the quality of learning for those who study in those communes. .

On Thursday the 17th Alianza Lagar Executive Committee met for the second time to advance the joint design of the form and focus of the collaboration. In the meeting participated Magdalena Claro, director of CEPPE UC; Sebastián Pereira, Researcher at the Center; Daniela Véliz, Director of Research at the Faculty of Education UC; Valentina Aguilera, assistant to the UC Research Department; Florencia Gómez, director of UC Education Practices; and, Daniela Triviño, Assistant Director of the Pedagogical Technical Support Unit together with David Saavedra, In charge of Continuous Training and Innovation of the SLEP Gabriela Mistral.

At the meeting, the team from the Pontificia Universidad Católica presented a list of collaborative projects as well as research initiatives with funding that are interested in developing activities with SLEP GM. On the other hand, the representatives of the Local Public Education Service announced the priority sectors where the UC can contribute with its knowledge and experience during this year.

After the event, both institutions agreed to work together to define the SLEP training model, as well as a program for monitoring and systematizing the collaborative and research projects that are underway.
