More than 150 new secondary school teachers graduated from the UC

A total of 153 graduates of the UC Faculty of Education's Teacher Training Program graduated in a ceremony held at the San Joaquín Campus.

On Thursdays The graduation ceremony was held on June 26th. of the Pedagogical Training Program, instance in which 153 new secondary education teachers received their professional degree. The event performed in the Francisco Rosende auditorium of the San Joaquín Campus, and was attended by authorities, academicss, academic and family members of the graduates.
Ethical and professional commitment to teaching
During the ceremony, the new teachers took the professional oath before the academic vice-rector. Mario Ponce, committed to the ethical and responsible practice of pedagogy. The degrees cover specialties such as visual arts, history, religion and morality, language and communication, English, music education, mathematics, physics, biology, chemistry, performing arts, and philosophy.
The academic vice-rector congratulated the graduates and emphasized the value commitment that graduating from the Catholic University entails. "We are a Catholic university created so that what we do and what you do will have an impact on our environment and on Chile.", said Mario Ponce.
Representing the UC Faculty of Education, he delivered awords of welcome la Vice Dean Daniela Véliz, who was accompanied by Malba Barahona, Undergraduate Director; Guillermo Marini, academic secretary; and Marisa Meza, head of the Pedagogical Training Program.

"Their insertion into the workforce occurs at a crucial moment for our country, where profound transformations are taking place in the Curricular foundations promoted by the Ministry of Education. We hope to have provided you with ethical training, disciplinary training, and practical training in how to orchestrate valuable and enriching classroom interactions. It is quite possible that you will educate adolescents in the following areas: coming years, who will be the adults of the 22nd century. The impact that you will have from now on as teachers will reach that point., added the vice-dean.
The ceremony also featured a speech by the graduate of Middle education in Performing Arts, Bastian del Campo, who highlighted the commitment and vocation of the group of new teachers, and thanked the Faculty for the support provided during their training.
Since 1997, the UC Teacher Training Program has trained professionals with prior degrees in various disciplines, enabling them to teach in secondary education with an ethical, reflective approach committed to improving the Chilean school system.
