Horacio Solar assumes the presidency of the Scientific Ethics Committee in Social Sciences, Arts and Humanities at UC

The UC Education academic will lead the committee, promoting new challenges in teaching, postgraduate studies, and dissemination.

Between November 10 and 12, the online election was held to define the new presidency of Scientific Ethics Committee in Social Sciences, Arts and Humanities UC. Professor Solar expressed his gratitude for the trust placed in him to assume the presidency. “I have accepted this challenge motivated by the excellent performance that has characterized this Committee, reflected in its organization, dedication, quality, and timely completion of evaluation processes. However, there are still challenges to address, such as further developing criteria for research in teaching, ethics protocols for graduate students, evaluation guidelines, collaboration with research departments, and strengthening outreach to the research community,” he stated.

The Scientific Ethics Committee for Social Sciences, Arts and Humanities began its installation process in November 2014, since which time it has been evaluating the ethical aspects in research project protocols submitted for its consideration.
