Student Development Sub-Directorate conducts training day for student representatives 2026

December 17, 2025

La Student Development Subdirectorate The UC Faculty of Education held a training day for the 2026 student representatives, aimed at strengthening leadership, collaborative work and participation within the university community.

Training day to strengthen student leadership

The Student Development Sub-Directorate of the UC Faculty of Education developed a training day aimed at the 2026 student representatives, with the purpose of strengthening their role within the university community and projecting more conscious, collaborative leadership aligned with the needs of the different careers.

The activity was led by Javiera Díaz, coordinator of Community, Participation and Inclusion, who explained that the central objective of the meeting was to strengthen student leadership through a space that integrated personal reflection, dialogue and needs assessment.

“We seek to promote self-awareness to identify strengths, challenges and lessons learned in the exercise of leadership, generating a moment of personal reflection that allows for the projection of more conscious and collaborative leadership.”Javiera Díaz pointed out.

Dialogue and collaborative work between careers

During the day, the representatives participated in thematic tables that facilitated guided conversations, aimed at promoting collaborative work and the analysis of the specific needs of each career that makes up the Faculty of Education.

Eva Glasinovic, territorial councilor, highlighted the importance of creating these meeting spaces: “Our Faculty brings together diverse academic programs and numerous representatives, so these opportunities for dialogue are essential to coordinate joint work with shared objectives, responding to the characteristics and needs of those we represent.”.

A training process that is projected to last until 2026

This day marks the beginning of a formative support process that the Student Development Sub-Directorate will continue to develop throughout 2026, through monthly meetings focused on leadership and the requirements that the representatives themselves have raised.

From the student perspective, the meeting was valued as a key opportunity to strengthen collaboration between academic programs. This was noted by Uriel Medina, a student of Special Education and member of the 2026 Gender Diversity Committee: “We were able to engage in dialogue with student centers from other educational disciplines, learn new perspectives on leadership, and share experiences that influence how we communicate and exercise this role. These opportunities strengthen the bond between educational disciplines and enhance what we can build together towards 2026.”.

With this initiative, the Student Development Sub-Directorate reaffirms its commitment to strengthening student participation and building conscious, collaborative leadership focused on the well-being of the educational communities of the UC Faculty of Education.
