This study focused on gathering the perceptions of the various actors that make up the educational communities of the Gabriela Mistral Local Public Education Service (SLEP Gabriela Mistral), covering the communes of La Granja, San Joaquín and Macul.

The fundamental purpose of this initiative was to collect and analyze information to characterize the strengths, opportunities for improvement, challenges and tensions present in the SLEP Gabriela Mistral community. This analysis is based on the perspectives provided by the management teams, teachers, support professionals, parents and students of these locations, with the focus on co-creation.

The conclusions of the study allowed us to establish four central aspects for the SLEP pedagogical model Gabriela Mistral

  • Un commitment to active and comprehensive student learning, with high expectations, which could be realized with adequate training of teachers and support staff, a rational organization of teaching and non-teaching times to consolidate collaborative work that allows changes to be sustained over time.
  • Un common educational model that gives the guidelines and makes explicit the goals, the student profile, the learning approach and shared teaching-learning strategies, that takes advantage of the resources provided by the territory, based on collaboration.
  • A vertical and horizontal management that facilitates the administration of human and material resources in a rational and timely manner to support the improvement of educational centers.

Un fluid and efficient communication system between the different levels of the SLEP.
