Approve the study plan
The student of the program PhD in Education UC You must have approved your study plan together with your research and original text of the thesis by the thesis committee, in accordance with the Doctoral Thesis Presentation Instructions, in one of its two modalities, either the conventional thesis or thesis by compendium of publications, as indicated in the Article 22 of the same Regulation.
Permanence of four semesters in Doctorate
Have had a minimum stay of four semesters in the program.
Pass thesis defense exam
Have passed the thesis defense exam to obtain the degree of doctor (a), according to the modality for which the student (a) has opted (conventional modality of thesis manuscript or, compendium of scientific articles).
Have an article accepted in an indexed journal
Being the main author of at least one scientific article accepted in an indexed journal in the main collection of Web of Science in any quartile or scopus in quartiles 1 and 2 of SJR (Scopus data), registered as an activity without credit (EDU4062), in the case of doing thesis in conventional modality or, having presented a compendium that articulates the results of at least three research articles of their main authorship, one of them published and registered as an activity without credit (EDU 4062), according to the publication and indexing requirements stipulated in Article 22 of these regulations, in the case of writing thesis in compendium mode.
Conference paper presentation
Have attended a mainstream conference, registered as an activity without credit (EDU 4064) after the advance to candidacy, with a paper approved as first author. The student's affiliation in the conference must be the Universidad Católica de Chile.
Have completed an internship abroad
Have completed a research stay/internship abroad, registered as an activity without credit (EDU 4063) after the advance to candidacy, with teams that work on issues related to their thesis. In duly justified cases of force majeure, the Doctorate Committee will be empowered to analyze and consider exceptional cases, in order to waive this requirement.
Approve three transversal skills workshops
Have approved at least three transversal skills workshops (acronym VRI), one of which must be of an ethical nature.
Have an advanced command of the English language
Have certified advanced command of the English language equivalent to the upper score of the B2 band (independent user) according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages and in accordance with the operationalization protocol established by the Graduate School for the Research Vice Presidency, or, presenting an international certification equivalent to that defined by this same entity for its validation.
Have carried out two follow-up activities
Have carried out two annual monitoring activities while the student was in a regular situation
