Cohabit death. What adults tell children about death: Analysis of three cases in contexts of cohabitation of Christian, Islamic and Andean beliefs

Interdisciplinary research project between Education and Theology that seeks to contribute to the understanding of how people experience death and, particularly, we involve boys and girls in this process. The general objective of the research is "To explore eventual similarities and differences in the ways of telling, explaining and involving boys and girls in the processes of death of a loved one considering different contexts and beliefs: Catholicism, Islam and Andean beliefs".

It is a study of multiple cases in three contexts of cohabitation of beliefs: the city of Arica, with the cohabitation of Andean ancestral beliefs and Christianity; the city of Santiago, with the presence of Catholic and Protestant Christianity; and the cities of Mongo and Abéché in Chad, with the coexistence of Christianity and Islam. Through written letters and interviews, 12 adults recount and explain death, reflect on the complexity of doing so and the belief frameworks to which they appeal.
