January 4, 2024

Cecilia Assael, María Rosa Lissi and Jaime Balladares visited Hungary, within the framework of the Erasmus agreement between András Peto Faculty and the UC Faculty of Education.

Within the framework of the agreement Erasmus between András Peto Faculty and the UC Faculty of Education, the academics Cecilia Assael, María Rosa Lissi and the academic Jaime Balladars they visited the Semmelweis University in Budapest, Hungary.

During December 2023, the academics of the Pedagogy career in Special education and belonging to the Faculty of Education and Social Sciences visited the European country to take and observe classes, with the aim of exchanging experiences and enriching the educational panorama of the participants of the Erasmus agreement.

Among the contents explored during the internship were topics such as inclusion policies in Chile, and the existing tensions between equality and differences. In this way, the processes of inclusion of our country and the transitions in educational inclusion models, thus leading to reflection and discussion between academics and students of the European country.

In this instance, content on people's inherent capacity for learning and how they influence the quality of these experiences and the creation of actively modifying environments were also reviewed.

Educational integration methodology

On the other hand, the academics observed an educational integration methodology implemented in the Hungarian university, which has an initially practical and later reflective component. In this way, undergraduate students learn specific techniques, taught by teachers from various areas with the aim of having training aimed at supporting children with very specific motor and cognitive disabilities.

From this observation, the academic Jaime Balladares He commented that “I was very struck by how highly motivated the undergraduate students were. One always noticed them in action, always active and attentive. The work was carried out with a lot of active methodology, which in general we know very well on paper, but we do not have it so integrated into our undergraduate training."

Meanwhile, the academic Cecilia Assael, highlighted that “although it is a very specific methodology, in principle for people with a motor disorder due to cerebral palsy, it seems to me that there are things about the methodology that can be very relevant and that transcend any relationship in the educational field. ”.

In order to continue this internship, three academics from the Hungarian university are projected to visit our country and take classes during the first semester of 2024.
