REDOFEM gave a workshop on “Pedagogy and gender in the classroom”

April 3

The workshop aimed to provide faculty students with tools to teach with a gender perspective, recognizing and eradicating gender biases in pedagogical practice.

In an effort to promote gender equality in the educational field, the Gender Subdirectorate of the Faculty of Education of the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (UC) coordinated a successful workshop titled “Pedagogy and Gender in the Classroom.” The event, facilitated by the Network of Feminist Teachers (REDOFEM), took place last Tuesday, October 31 from 14:00 p.m. to 16:00 p.m. in the STEM Room of the interfaculty building, located on the San Joaquín campus.

The workshop aimed to provide faculty students with tools to teach with a gender perspective, recognizing and eradicating gender biases in pedagogical practice. The activity combined theory and practice, allowing attendees to acquire and apply knowledge effectively.

The initiative received a positive response from students, who valued the opportunity to delve deeper into the topic and integrate inclusive practices into their educational work. With this workshop, the UC Faculty of Education reaffirms its commitment to promoting an egalitarian education free of gender discrimination.
