With more than two decades at the UC Faculty of Education, Lorena Medina was unanimously promoted to Full Professor, the highest academic rank at the university, in recognition of a career that crosses educational research, teaching policies and biocultural conservation.

The initiative, led by academic Cecilia Ramírez and co-investigated by Maili Ow, seeks to articulate a collaborative platform for creation and research, and strengthen cooperation with Chad in education and promotion of women from Guera.

The professor from the UC Faculty of Education received the highest distinction in his academic career. According to the GPS Ranking of Scholars and Institutions, Professor González is in the top 1% of specialists in the field of higher education globally.

Her public impact stemming from her studies has been significant, serving as an expert voice for years on the evolution and dynamics of change in higher education entrance exams.

The UC held its first FONDEDOC workshop on gender mainstreaming in higher education, sharing curricular experiences to advance equitable training.

The project was developed in collaboration with the Focus Foundation and a team of students and novice teachers of Basic Education and Special Education Pedagogy from the UC Faculty of Education. The materials are available free of charge on the National Tutoring Plan platform.

Following the recent training, the program has reached a total of 120 educators and assistants and impacted 1.000 children participating in the educational program.

The academic leads two projects that promote locally rooted learning: an educational guide on the Chango and Diaguita cultures in the Coquimbo Region, and a school publication exploring the archaeological and natural heritage of the mouth of the Loa River.

Aurora Badillo, Guillermo Marini, Verónica García-Lazo and Silvia Tobar were recognized for promoting quality teaching and encouraging faculty to improve their practices.
