Latin American Educational Thought Magazine is indexed in Scopus

La Latin American Educational Thought Magazine (PEL) was created in July 1993 under the umbrella of the Faculty of Education of the Catholic University and was born as an inheritance from the Anales Magazine founded in 1953 on the same campus. After a long work of academics and researchers, the magazine was indexed in Scopus.

What does it mean that PEL is indexed in Scopus? This category attests that the journal meets a series of international and publication standards that give status to research related to education. Some of these standards are an objective process, blind evaluators, among others, and the inclusion of PEL in the Scopus database will increase the visibility of the work of national and international researchers.

For the dean of the Faculty of Education UC, Alejandro Carrasco, this is incredible news for the national community because "it will allow them to publish their research papers in the country and not necessarily in a foreign journal. This is important because everything our system of accountability and requirements to win a project like Fondecyt, for example, lies in the ability of the researcher to publish in journals of this type (ISI or Scopus). That is, having publications of this nature allows you to progress in your academic career and thereby obtain funding to continue research”,

An opinion shared by the academic from the UC School of Education, Lorraine Medina: “We are very happy and happy, as it is the result of the work of several teams that have historically contributed to this achievement. (…) Undoubtedly, having an indexed Journal completes the academic work of research (Faculty and Centers) and teaching."He explained.

The magazine which is published twice a year in Spanish and English receives texts and research from all national and international researchers in areas such as education and social sciences. To present your work you only have to enter the web page at ELP.
