UC Education academics make up editorial teams of prestigious indexed journals

This distinction recognizes the trajectory and academic prestige of researchers in their field of knowledge.

21 academics from the Faculty of Education belong to editorial teams of prestigious scientific journals in the educational field, both in Chile and abroad. A high-level distinction that recognizes the trajectory and individual academic work of each researcher in their field of knowledge.

Being part of an editorial committee also implies the opportunity to contribute to the advancement in the dissemination of scientific knowledge, through the evaluation, orientation and selection of those articles that meet demanding publication criteria.

• 13 academics make up the editorial team of Educational thinking, Journal of Educational Research (PEL), publication of the Faculty of Education that in 2023 celebrated 30 years of history. The scientific journal - with peer review and open access - is made up of Paola Seville, general editor and Edgar Valencia, executive editor; in addition to the associate editors Pilar Álamos, Jaime Balladares, Valentina Errazuriz, Veronica Garcia, Gabriel Gutierrez, Ruby Olivares, Philip Porflitt, Maria Ines Susperreguy, Christopher Villalobos, Macarena Yancovic y William Zamora, who carry out the first review of articles and designate external evaluators.
• The titular professor Ernesto Trevino joins the editorial board of the magazine School Effectiveness and School Improvement (SESI). He is also a member of the advisory board of International Journal of Educational Development.
• Valeria Cabello is part of the advisory board of LUMAT: International Journal on Math, Science and Technology Education, a magazine that publishes research articles on mathematics, science and technology education.
• In addition to his role as associate editor at PEL magazine, William Zamora He is a member of the editorial boards of the Educational Profiles Magazine, Autonomous University of Mexico,  Teaching Practice Magazine, Ministry of Education of Mexico; and of Pesquisa e Ensino Magazine. Federal University of the West of Bahia – UFOB.
• Philip Porflitt participates in the editorial board of Resonances: Journal of musical research, Chilean Musical Magazine, U Chile, and Studies in Psychology (WoS), and Educational Thinking (PEL).
• Pilar Álamos joins the editorial board of Journal of Applied Developmental Psychology, and Educational Thinking (PEL).
• Lina Calle is the executive editor of Latin American Journal of Writing Studies (RLEE).
• Susana Mendive is associate editor of Journal for the study of education and development, and is part of the advisory board of Reading Research Quarterly.
• Solar Horace He is a member of the editorial team of Magazine of Studies and Experiences in Education and associate editor of Mathematics Education Magazine, Chilean Magazine of Mathematics Education, Sochiem y journal of Mathematics and Science Teacher.
• Maria Ines Susperreguy belongs to the editorial board of Early Childhood Research Quarterly (Elsevier), Journal of Cognition and Development (Taylor & Francis Group), Cognitive Development (Elsevier) (WoS), and associate editor of ELP.
• Regina Lohndorf integrates editorial board of Child Development Perspectives (SRCD).
• Natalia Ávila She is general editor of Latin American Journal of Writing Studies.
• Lorraine medina is associate editor of Journal for the Study of Education and Development (JSED).
• Olga Espinoza belongs to the international board of reviewers of Alteridad Magazine.
• mario quintanilla is part of the advisory board of Teaching of Sciences, Eduq, Eureka, Alembic, Science & Education y Teaching experimental sciences. Likewise, he is a member of the scientific committee of Chemical Education Magazine, Research in Education Magazine, Journal of Biology Education, and is part of the academic advisory committee of New insights.
